Smorstad's Scoop- January 14th

**WEEKLY SCOOP!**

Maybe we will have a normal week of school in February!! The SMARTIES did a great job jumping right into the swing of things after the snow day break mid-week. We are starting a social studies unit on economics. They are going to learn about everything from needs and wants to supply and demand. I love getting to teach something outside of reading and writing because they are always so eager to learn!

...Classroom News for You...

Dylan was a great star student!

* We will continue to study time next week and have an assessment next Friday. They are being tested on time to hour, half hour, and quarter hour. Please practice with your child at home.

* Our next math unit will be over money. This will be a time to review and reteach what we learned in first grade and expand on counting mixed coins. Now is the time to get out those piggy banks and practice counting money again!

* If you have not scheduled a conference with me please do so ASAP. Thanks!
