Smorstad's Scoop- March 25th

**WEEKLY SCOOP!**

We had a great week… filled with time outside and some tasty lunch at the Japanese restaurant. I am glad that all of our 2nd grade students were able to experience a Japanese hibachi meal.

Please sign and return report cards after checking out your child’s progress. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

With less than 50 days of school left I am already feeling a little teary about letting this group go! They are wonderful!

Thank you for sending in donations for our Easter themed basket. It looks great and is sure to bid at a high price! I also appreciate those who helped at our Spring Fling booths! Thank you, thank you! We started cursive and WOW- I have never seen such hard work out of these Smarties. They have beautiful cursive writing. Please continue to allow time for them to practice their new letters at home.

**SPRING FLING**

* We are in NEED of donations for Easter themed Spring Fling basket! Suggested items for the basket include candy, stickers, books, and décor!

* We are also in NEED of volunteers to work our 2nd grade booths. Please fill out the form to request a time and turn that in as soon as possible.

* If you PRE-ORDER tickets they will be sent home Wed, Thurs, or Fri before the main event!

Changes…Changes…

You may hear about some classroom changes as we get closer to the end of the school year. Coming first… we will begin taking on the cursive writing adventure next week. Please read the information packet and support your child as they learn a new skill! Up next… we will be moving to 2 warning clips, then to 1, and after Spring break they will only be given verbal warnings before they are asked to refocus. At this point in the year I feel they are ready to loose the constant “reminder” of their clips and take more responsibility of their behavior! Thanks for support!
